
EGA Pet Korea (CEO Lee Jae-sam) announced that it has signed a 'Companion Animal Nutrition Product R&D' MOU with ANIBIOME (CEO Oh Won-seok) and Seoul National University Integrative Veterinary Medicine Research Center (Director Cho Sung-bum).
According to EGA Pet Korea on the 28th, participants at the signing ceremony held on the 26th agreed to establish a collaborative framework for: establishing a proper food culture for companion animals, researching and developing preventive and therapeutic support products for life stage-specific conditions, and providing guardian education for companion animal health management. They also agreed to pursue continued investment and collaboration going forward.
Through this agreement, EGA Pet Korea plans to focus on dog and cat healthcare products and guardian education research with academic and technical advisory support from ANIBIOME.
EGA Pet Korea will also sponsor the Korean Society of Veterinary Nutrition conference to be held at SETEC in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 20th of next month.
"We plan to develop companion animal foods and nutritional supplements based on clinical veterinary nutrition and launch products that reflect the needs of pet guardians," said an EGA Pet Korea representative. "We will faithfully adhere to nutritional guidelines such as AAFCO standards."
The signing ceremony was attended by Seoul National University Integrative Veterinary Medicine Research Center Director Prof. Cho Sung-bum, Prof. Baek Seung-joon, Prof. Kim Min-soo, and ANIBIOME CEO Oh Won-seok.
