Natural Pro Inc. (Co-CEOs Choi Young-il and Park Ju-won) and Friend Pet Co. (CEO Kim Jeong-geum, Executive Director Kwon Tae-eun) signed a 'Clinical Veterinary Nutrition (Pet Healthcare Foods) R&D MOU' with ANIBIOME Inc. (CEO Oh Won-seok) and Seoul National University Integrative Veterinary Medicine Research Center on Wednesday the 13th.
The signing ceremony was attended by Seoul National University Integrative Veterinary Medicine Research Center Director Prof. Cho Sung-bum, Seoul National University College of Veterinary Medicine Prof. Baek Seung-joon, and ANIBIOME CEO Oh Won-seok. The Seoul National University College of Veterinary Medicine Integrative Veterinary Medicine Research Center established ANIBIOME last year to drive corporate R&D and product development in the companion animal sector.
The participants agreed on the need for research and development of preventive and therapeutic support products for each life stage, as well as specialized health management education by dog and cat breed, to establish a proper food culture for companion animals.

Under this agreement, Natural Pro and Friend Pet Co. will provide companion animal healthcare products and guardian education services tailored to life stages and breeds with advisory support from ANIBIOME. By working with experts from the product development stage through to finished product manufacturing, they expect to gain greater market credibility in the future.
Additionally, Natural Pro Inc. and Friend Pet Co. each pledged 100 million won in R&D research funding to ANIBIOME Inc.
"We plan to develop companion animal supplements based on clear clinical data and actively communicate with pet guardians to develop products that reflect consumer needs," said Natural Pro. They added that they will faithfully adhere to nutritional guidelines such as AAFCO standards.
"Currently, many pet guardians are struggling due to a lack of proper information and the overheated competition among prescription diets, treats, and supplements," said ANIBIOME CEO Oh Won-seok. "The market can only grow properly when we establish a culture where companion animal medical care and preventive/therapeutic management work together organically."
